Seismic Geometric Decomposition Software
The Seismic Geometric Decomposition Plugin for Petrel is a tool designed to generate a series of high definition seismic volumes that can be used to improve the delineation of the Fault System, the external and internal reservoir architecture and to recognize reflectivity patterns for geomorphology analysis.
SGD plugin for Petrel delivers a product with higher internal details and continuity of the reflectors than the original seismic, facilitating the interpretation of complex structures.
Along with the rest of the knowledge base SGD volumes can be of help to delineate those subtle details that are not described by the original seismic and could explain production uncertainties.
Fault Enhancement and Reservoir compartmentalization mapping are some of the services offered by Cayros Solutions that take advantage of the Seismic Geometric Decomposition volumes generated by the plugin.
In the example presented to the right, the drilling cost was very high and several issues occurred while drilling along faulted zones. The use of the segmentation maps generated successfully helped reducing the risk when positioning new wells.
